There are some people who are sharing content on this channel. On the other hand, the others are those who are grabbing information of their own interest from this channel.

Due to the above major activities, the social media world and community is alive and continuously increasing. There is no doubt in this thing that every big or small company did realize the power of social media world. And this is the reason that every conventional brand has now a complete plan for its social media marketing activities. If we deeply review the social media channel then it’s a combination of online platform and communication channels. And this is normally facilitating the online group of people to share and grab information on the same.

Fashion Industry and Social Media:

The fashion industry is no doubt a vibrant industry in the world’s global economy. As per the global research findings, over three trillion dollars valued garments are made in a year. And it creates over 57 million jobs and accounts for almost two percent of the global GDP. The fashion line is getting high and broad day by day. Other than formal and casual wear of men’s or women clothing, you can also experience this thing into sportswear too.

The significance of social media into fashion industry is not ignorable. With the passage of time, the social media marketing has become the fast growing channel for the promotion of any product. The fashion industry is also getting benefits from the positive outcomes of this particular media channel’s activities. In-fact, for last decade, the social media marketing has developed and portrayed itself quite uniquely from other traditional marketing methods. It’s offering huge opportunities to the promoters to develop their brand awareness in multiple ways. Now the concept and use of famous social media sites like Face book, Twitter, Pinterest etc. has totally changed. There was a time when people use these platforms for only time killing or fun purpose. But now, these platforms are considered as most useful and information-based channels for the fashion lovers. And the followers can easily find every past and future product details from these channels.

Social Media Channel Rankings:

Other than some big social media online platforms like Face book Twitter and Instagram; There are some others channels like YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat and WeChat which are engaging millions of users too. Almost every big and small fashion brand is normally preferred to reach its followers from this medium. As they believe that it’s fast and result oriented source of promotion tool due to its fast growing community. The only Face book has 2.2 billion active users whereas YouTube and WhatsApp have 1.5 billion users on each channel. Not only this, there are other social networks too which has prominent strength of people. Due to change in technology and trends, the ordinary consumer life style and habits are also changing accordingly. Now, fashion consumer loves to buy clothes from these social media channels. One study showed that 07 out of 10 female prefer to buy wearable via online. So, the famous and small brands have already jumped on these channels to grab more customers and followers. They opened virtual stores, developed blogs sites, share posts and videos to their clients for product promotion. The famous brand Gucci has more that sixteen million followers on Facebook. They normally share videos and pictures of the new and current product line to their followers frequently. On the other hand, Versace shares model’s videos and pictures to its 5.0 million followers who love to wear the Versace’s clothes.

Social Media Marketing Directions?

The social media marketing rules may vary from brand to brand. Normally, in social media marketing, we usually emphasizes to post frequently. Because we believe that with this way, we can not only engage our current clientele or followers but it will also attract other clients too. Secondly, in order to engage your followers, we also emphasize this thing that response time on customer’s query should be prompt. Because the research study proves this thing that 70% twitter users expect response from the brands. And out this percentage, 53% are those who expect response within an hour. So, the importance of engagement with your clients is really significant in social media marketing.

Further, we should not restrict ourselves with only few famous platforms like Face book, twitter, Pinterest etc. We should explore more channels where we believe that we could find our new clienteles or followers. As I believe that every platform doesn’t give the same benefits to every seller. We should know our market first then we should decide where to go. A successful and sophisticated brand Céline only has Instagram account. But they have handsome loyal clientele at back. Since the personality of the brand is classy so they don’t want to be the part of loud, glossy platform for marketing.

Some Closing Words:

Although we talked about a lot about the social media importance and it’s potential for the recent market players. Yet, despite of knowing all the positive aspects of this platform, this medium is not for everyone. Or in other word, we can say that it’s not necessary that you could get success or fame from this channel only. Although the majority is taking benefits from this medium and continuously grabbing more clients into their follower’s list. But, we have discussed above an example which has limited presence in this platform. But they are quite successful and loyal customer base at their back. So, simply, we can say that before signing into any platform, you should first know the main features of that platform. Because this information will help or support you whether you will find your target market over there or not? So, this is a key to success and could help you to portray your brand to the right audience at the right place and time.

Why Water Pollution is More Critical Than You Think

Why Water Pollution is More Critical Than You Think

Water is life and it’s a main driving force for all living creatures of our planet. As per Slovakian proverb, “Pure water is the world’s first and foremost medicine”. We as human beings are the solely responsible for the pollution of this precious natural resource. Scientists are continuously discovering the reasons of water pollution. And as per their findings, one of the main reason of water pollution is our industries and especially the textile and clothing industry. No doubt the textile and clothing sector is catering the basic needs of the human beings. But on the other hand, it is also the main cause of water pollution and shortage.

As most of the industrial processing operations are totally depend upon water. The world’s environment organizations are really concerned about environment as well as water pollution issue. Now, they are working together to find out the ways for pollution free world.

Water Pollution in Textile & Clothing:

As mentioned earlier the textile and clothing industry is major entity of water consumption and pollution. The whole fabric making (De-sizing, Scouring, Bleaching and Mercerizing) and garment manufacturing (denim/non-woven laundry) process requires the plenty of water. And the water discharge from fabric and garment making process has full of hazardous chemical and metals.

Although there are ways to treat the water for reusable yet the treatment solution is a bit costly. And most of the small and medium mills avoid to install such pricey treatment plant into their production facility. So, when the untreated water of the mills dilutes into our rivers and lakes then it causes the sever health and environment issues.

Fashion Industry Trends:

The other studies show that the “micro-plastic” is a major component of synthetic clothing which is polluting our water. And it is worse than already banned plastic “microbeads” from cosmetics. And one more recent studies proves “microfibers” from synthetic clothing pollute water even worse than “micro-plastics”.

As per the recent research study of International Union for Conservation of Nature, the micro plastics contribute up to 31% in ocean’s annual pollution. And almost two third of this pollution derive from synthetic textile and car’s tyres. And other than industrial processing; these micro-plastics also enter into the water in everyday home wash and driving. As per study, a new fleece jacket release 1.7 grams of microfibers on each home wash. And polluting content quantity would be double in case of old jacket. This polluted water with microfibers (which is more harmful than micro plastics) directly affect the sea world. These microfibers absorb chemicals and penetrate into animal tissues in a high quantity.

The pollution rate of micro-plastic and microfibers varies country to country. As per recent research on fishes of Indonesia and America, the Indonesian fish was more contaminated with plastic whereas the American fish was infected with microfibers. In few countries car’s tyres causes the main pollution of micro plastics. Whereas, in other continents, synthetic textile is the main reason of micro-plastic pollution.

Water Saving Measures:

Keeping in view the present scenario, we should be more careful about the main causes of microfibers and micro-plastics pollution. And for this, we should make such clothes which uses high quality of natural fibers. We should change our washing instruments by adding washing bag and filters so that it can stop the debris and other fabric fibers.

For industrial processing, the Control Union (CU) issued new standard named Global Recycle Standard (GRS) for wastewater and chemicals. As per the standards, the wastewater treatment and chemical (sustainable chemical) usage should be in accordance with GOTS and Oekotex 100 standards.  The certification and installation cost of water treatment plant is high so small business normally owners avoid to do this. So, here the Govt. should take some productive measures and combine the industrial units at one place. In this way, they can share the combine water treatment plant and other mutual benefits for cost savings. Furthermore, the Govt. should take measures to promote the “World Water Day” (22nd March) theme (“Why Waste Water”). So, that everyone should know the importance of this valuable natural resource.
